AI: Invisible by Design
85 10th Ave, Floor 8, New York City · Invitation Only
Thank You forBeing in the Room.
On October 14, 2026, RETAIL DELUXE NYC brought together more than 100 retail leaders representing over 50 brands and organizations at Shopify’s New York office. Across two panels on Unified Commerce and AI in Retail, the conversation moved past broad predictions and focused on the decisions retailers are making now. The most effective AI is invisible by design. Customers should experience the benefit, not the machinery behind it.

What We Remember MostHappened Off Stage.
It was a reminder that technology moves the industry forward, but relationships are what hold it together.
Between sessions, the conversation became more specific. Retail leaders compared how they are connecting channels, preparing teams for AI, improving product discovery, and deciding where people still make the difference.
Those exchanges carried the discussion beyond the stage. They gave guests the chance to test ideas against day-to-day operating challenges, learn from one another, and leave with perspectives they could take back to their teams.
No Predictions.Just Practice.
Across two panels, eight industry leaders shared what they are testing, where AI is creating value today, and what organizations need to scale it responsibly. The conversation focused on what has worked, what has not, and lessons other leaders can put to work.
The first panel, on Unified Commerce, brought together Ann Marie Ippoliti, former SVP at Michael Kors; Andrea Risaliti, former Regional CIO at Bulgari; Eduardo Frias, Director, Professional Services at Shopify; and Renan Goupil, Luxury E-commerce Strategist at L’Oréal Luxe.
The second, on AI in Retail, featured Colleen Coulter, Ads Solutions Lead at OpenAI; Kerry O’Donnell, Senior Director, AI at Interparfums, Inc.; Kapil Dabi, Market Lead at Google; and Lauren Fiorentino, Partner Lead at Google.
Ganesh Patil, CTO at Allure, moderated both conversations and opened the floor to questions from the room.
Ideas That Stayed With Us
What the RoomKept Returning To.
- 01
The best AI can feel invisible.
Its value is clearest when it removes friction, sharpens a decision, or makes an interaction feel more intuitive.
- 02
Adoption is a leadership challenge.
The tools matter, but so do clear priorities, accountable ownership, and the confidence to test and learn.
- 03
Human judgment remains essential.
Efficiency should support the people building the brand experience, never flatten what makes it distinct.
It Took a Village,and We’re Grateful
for Ours.
An evening like this depends on the people who bring retail leaders together and take care of the details that make it possible.
Thank you to Shopify for hosting us, and to Booxi and Rekon Retail for supporting the evening as industry sponsors.
We are grateful to our speakers, guests, production partners, and the entire event team for shaping the evening.
A special thank you to the students who contributed their time, energy, and enthusiasm behind the scenes. Their dedication and support played an important role in bringing the evening to life.
